London’s Largest Demo Day - UPDATE
The last few weeks have been intense for us at Rare Founders as we prepare for the 2nd edition of London’s Largest Demo Day. We’re a young company with a small team, but we’re putting our hearts into making this the event of the year for both investors and founders. Please bear with us if we’re slow to respond to emails or messages.
What’s Happened So Far:
Applications for founders are now closed.
We received over 500 applications, which are currently being reviewed and rated by our 60 investor partners.
What’s Next:
Investors have 2 weeks to complete their evaluations.
Next week, founders will need to complete a psychometric test provided by ETA Technologies. This test assesses team dynamics. (If you’ve applied but haven’t received the email about it, check your spam folder or contact us asap.)
By mid-September, we will announce the Top 100 founders who will pitch in October.
We’re finalizing the rest of the agenda and will announce details soon. We have some top-quality content lined up, including a U.S. firm flying in to run a masterclass for VCs and founders on expanding into the U.S. market.
What’s New This Time:
Increased Networking: We’re dedicating an entire room for one-on-one meetings. Attendees can book 15-minute slots throughout the day via the conference mobile app.
Improved Connections: We’re introducing an auction-style system where investors indicate interest in pitching startups by placing a numbered plate. We’ll collect these details and share them with founders after the event.
Private Investor Space: Investors will have a dedicated area for work and calls, so they don’t need to leave the venue.
Evening Event: We’re hosting a separate event (The First Money-In) where 10 founders who haven’t secured investments yet will pitch to up to 20 active and well- networked angel investors who are ready to commit on the day. This is a unique opportunity and has never been done before. More details will follow.
New Partnership: We’re about to announce a partnership with Founders Capital to create an angel syndicate that will invest in companies pitching on the day. Stay tuned for more details.
